Ever since I came to Canada, a little over 20 years ago, I couldn't even get my hands on a brush.

My daily routine completely sucked me in. Although, from time to time, different ideas kept popping into my mind that I wanted to express on canvas.

Finally, just last year, I exhibited my work in an exhibition contest, A Composition of Flowers. Lilac.

I got a bronze medal for my work and that recognition encouraged me further.

Now, I was noticed.

They're the first flowers I've ever painted and, although I have no preferences in what I do, the flowers seemed to be a good exercise, for me, in the definition of form, the richness of colour, and the shifts from reflection to shadow and light.

I have enjoyed my technical exploration through painting flowers, but I'm eager to move on to other ideas.
