My art and poetry showcase the complexities of living with chronic illness. I combat pain through creative endeavors, voicing my Lyme experience to raise awareness.

Creating my own path, I rally against the stigma attached to this illness, breaking taboos and revealing what my illness feels and looks to me, empowering and validating others touched by Lyme, a multi-systemic, multistage inflammatory infection, a topic often abstract and alien for most people.

The tones and hues on my palette are inspired by the color of my medication and by a microscope image of the spirochetal bacterium responsible for causing Lyme. I try to reimagine the journey of this pathogenic organism throughout its host, a testimony of what my body’s endured and is still enduring.

My core mission is to deepen the narrative around chronic illness, to create artworks and poems that invite social engagement and spark conversations with people from across the disability community, help them feel seen and heard, as well as with outsiders.
