Veronica Dragnef's
works narrate a journey of reconstruct and reconstruction, a meditation on
uprooting, overlapping cultures and the struggle for identity survival in the
era of globalization and international migration. Her creative approach is a combination of
acrylic, graffiti and collages on canvas or paper, illustrating the potential
of a dialogue between various materials that, together, aspire to promote intercultural
dialogue. The imprint technique, symbolizing rebirth, is a recurring theme in
Dragnef's works.
Her creations draw
inspiration from both the powerful universality of ethnographic symbols and
cave and primitive art. She describes her work simply by saying, "My art
is certainly the result of the suffering that accompanies uprooting, but also
of the joy of having succeeded in making sense of these things."
